The 1984 draft was CHOCK FULL of talent. Star after star was drafted in one of the most heralded draft classes of ALL TIME. Ever hear of Michael Jordan? He was drafted that year. Tune in and listen to Alessandro and Dr. Rice go through the big names, including international superstar Oscar Schmidt, all time world leader in professional basketball points scored. If you’re a fan of Brigham Young University basketball, this is the podcast for you!
In a brand-spanking-new podcast series, Alessandro and Dr. Alex Rice look back through NBA history to bring light to lesser discussed topics and players. First up: Houston repeat titles in the mid-90’s. While MJ was busy playing the Monstars over the fate of the Looney Tunes universe, Hakeem Olajuwon and the Rockets ran off two tiles in a row, by defeating the likes of David Robinson, Pat Ewing, and young Shaq! It came replete with artsy camera angles, suggestive cuts, enticing voice overs, all the elements necessary to get the old True Detective Season 1 crowd salivating for another high-brow HBO crime show. It’s a new year, but the same old Warriors are curb-stomping the rest of the league into submission. Meanwhile, the other teams grasp at straws for answers, as the Clippers shop around Blake Griffin, and Lebron forces out yet another coach because he’s mean (sarcasm font). Join Sagramore and Dr. Rice as they guide you through a tumultuous first month of 2016 basketball.
The 2015 NBA is moving right along, and there’s controversy! Sagramore and Dr. Alex Rice discuss Rajon Rondo’s distasteful comments and their aftermath for far too long, and then transition into talking about actual basketball. There might be some insightful Atlanta Hawks commentary.
Fan favorite Dr. Alex Rice stops by to talk about the current state of football in America and the nefarious powers that run it. This is a multi-part discussion, and this is part the third, which focuses on the horrible institution that is the NCAA and big time college sports. Quick take: we’re not fans.
